  • Abstract submission for WPC2026 is now open. Submission ends November 3, 2025. Notifications will be e-mailed by December 23, 2025. Submit your abstract here.
  • To encourage student and young scientist participation, two programmes will be available that will aid with financial costs and offer exclusive events for programme participants: the Young Scientists Programme and the Youth Programme. Information on both programmes can be found on the website.
  • Young WPSA members/students and older scientists (>40 y) from developing countries can apply for a WPSA Travel Grant.
  • The World’s Poultry Science Association (WPSA) announce the 8th round of awards to be presented at the World’s Poultry Congress. The awards are made in each of two categories – Research and Education – which form part of the wording on the WPSA logo. The award will consist of a suitably inscribed certificate or plaque and US$ 15,000.
  • 2026 Cliff D. Carpenter International Essay Competition. Five travel awards of $2,000 will be made available on a competitive basis to full time graduate poultry science students for attendance at the World’s Poultry Congress in Toronto, Canada.

Branch News

  • The Argentinean Branch of WPSA was one of the sponsors of the webinar 19th Poultry Conference, August 14th, 2025. The presentations are available in here (in Spanish).
    The branch was also one of the sponsors of 20th anniversary celebration day of the Specialization in Poultry Production, which took place in Lujan, Buenos Aires, Argentina, August 8th, 2025. The news of this event is available in here (in Spanish).
    The branch will be one of the sponsors of the upcoming webinar 20th Poultry Conference, November 28th, 2025.
  • The Cameroon branch, with Australian and Colombian partners, will host a side event on 29 September 2025 during the FAO Global Conference on Sustainable Livestock Transformation (29 September to 1 October 2025, FAO Headquarters, Rome, Italy. The branch Secretary General, Prof. Djitie Kouatcho will present a case study on Cameroon local poultry farming. The webcast and hybrid links will be provided as soon as the logistical arrangements are finalized, and these will be updated on the conference website.
  • The Indonesia Branch reports on many activities during July-September 2025. Click here for the full report.
  • The Italian branch of the WPSA is pleased to announce the first edition of Italian Poultry Week, an initiative that will involve young (under 40) academic researchers and industry professionals in educational activities led by industry experts and leading scientists in the poultry production field. The programme is designed to provide in-depth knowledge of current challenges, innovations, and sustainable practices in the poultry sector, and foster interaction between academia and the production world. All the activities will be in Italian. Detailed information is provided in the branch website.
    The Italian Branch is willing to share its experience from this week with other branches, and support them in organizing similar ones
  • The Pakistan Branch recently launched a website () dedicated to connect researchers, academicians, industry professionals, and students in the field of poultry science. It highlights the Branch initiatives, upcoming events, publications, and collaborative opportunities aimed at advancing sustainable poultry practices in Pakistan and beyond.

  • The 13th European Symposium on Poultry Genetics, will be held October 8 -10, 2025 in Gdańsk (Poland), and is organized by Working Group 3 (Breeding and Genetics) of the European Federation of WPSA and the Polish Branch of WPSA. Deadline for abstract submission April 30, 2025. For more details visit: espg2025.org.
  • A combined workshop organized by the WPSA WG6IFRG (Incubation and Fertility Research Group) and WG12 (Physiology) will be held from October 22-24 in Berlin, Germany. For more information, registration, and preliminary programme, look at the website.
    The 4 winners of the IFRG ‘Next Gen Funding’ are announced at here.
  • APSS 2026: the Australian Poultry Science Symposium will be held in Sydney on 9-11 February 2026. Major themes: Broiler and layer nutrition, Artificial Intelligence in poultry production, Poultry welfare, Re-imagining amino acid nutrition, Intestinal health, Antibiotic replacement, Updates on avian influenza. Abstract submission is open until September 30 and registration opens on October 1, both via the website.
  • The Turkish Branch of WPSA will hold the International Congress on Digitalization and Health in Poultry Production on 7-8 May 2026 in Elazığ. Details about the congress can be found at: https://ipc2026.com.
  • The UK branch is hosting the next European Symposium on Poultry Welfare, on 31st May to 3rd June 2027 (please note the change of dates.) See the website and register your interest https://espw2027.com/.
  • The next World Waterfowl Conference will be organized 20-22 September 2027 in Nantes (France). All information is available at the following link.

Recent conferences: Proceedings and presentations

  • The XX European Symposium on the Quality of Eggs and Egg Products and the XXVI European Symposium on the Quality of Poultry Meat were successfully held as a joint event, attracting around 250 participants from 38 countries. The symposia provided an excellent platform for scientific exchange and networking among experts from academia and industry interested on poultry meat and egg quality.     The next edition of these symposia will take place in Italy in 2027 (WG4 and WG5).
