WPSA Indonesia Completes 2025 Membership Registration with 174 Members Across 13 Regional Commissions
The Indonesian Branch of the World’s Poultry Science Association (WPSA) has successfully completed its 2025 membership registration drive. Spearheaded by the WPSA Indonesia Committee, this initiative aimed to update and verify the list of members officially registered with the global WPSA organization. As a result of this effort, a total of 174 individuals have officially enrolled as members of the WPSA Indonesia for the year 2025. The registered members include 89 returning members and 85 new members, reflecting both sustained interest and growing engagement within the national poultry science community. These members are distributed across 13 regional commissions, ensuring broad representation from various parts of the country:

South, West, and Southeast Sulawesi Regional Commission Hosts Online Socialization and Promotion Sessions for the WPSA Indonesia
On April 18, 2025, the South, West, and Southeast Sulawesi Regional Commission of the WPSA Indonesia successfully held an online socialization and promotion session aimed at introducing the organization to poultry professionals across the provinces of South Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, and Southeast Sulawesi. The event served as a platform to share the mission, values, and benefits of being part of the World’s Poultry Science Association Indonesian Branch (WPSA Indonesia). The session attracted enthusiastic participation from stakeholders across the region, as reflected by the high number of attendees and active engagement throughout the event. The session featured presentations by the Chair and Vice Chair of the regional commission, Prof. Dr. Sri Purwanti and Ir. Arif Wongso, SPt., MSi., IPM, who shared insightful perspectives on the role of the WPSA Indonesia in advancing the poultry industry through knowledge sharing, collaboration, and innovation. One of the highlights of the session was the successful recruitment of dozens of new members who officially registered as part of the WPSA in Indonesia. This increase in membership demonstrates the growing recognition of the organization’s relevance and impact in the field of poultry science. The involvement of these new members is a vital step toward expanding professional networks and strengthening the role of the WPSA in Indonesia both nationally and globally. ILDEX Indonesia 2025 Partners with the WPSA Indonesia to Host International Poultry Seminars
On April 28, 2025, a pivotal meeting was held to establish a partnership between the organizers of ILDEX Indonesia and the World’s Poultry Science Association Indonesian Branch (WPSA Indonesia). The meeting focused on finalizing the concept and technical preparations for the upcoming International Poultry Seminar, which will feature both national and international poultry experts. ILDEX Indonesia, one of Southeast Asia’s premier trade exhibitions and conferences for the livestock and aquaculture industries, is set to take place from September 17–19, 2025, at the ICE Convention Center in Jakarta, Indonesia. The event is expected to attract over 12,200 visitors from more than 30 countries, making it a significant gathering for industry professionals and stakeholders. This seminar, in collaboration with the WPSA Indonesia, will provide a platform for the exchange of knowledge, new technologies, and innovative practices in poultry science. The involvement of renowned poultry experts, both local and international, will offer invaluable insights into the latest trends and research in the field, benefiting both the academic and practical aspects of poultry farming. By partnering with the WPSA Indonesia, the ILDEX Indonesia aims to enhance the quality and scope of the seminar, positioning the event as a major highlight of the region’s poultry industry calendar.
WPSA Indonesia Partners with Poultry Indonesia for Collaborative Programmes in 2025-2026
The WPSA in Indonesia officially teamed with poultry Indonesia (PI) to implement a series of collaborative programmes for the 2025–2026 period. This partnership was formalized following a productive meeting between the President and the Secretary-General of the WPSA Indonesia and the leadership of the PI on May 7, 2025. One of the first initiatives arising from this collaboration will be the National Poultry Seminar scheduled for July 2025 in Surabaya, Indonesia. This seminar will bring together key stakeholders in the poultry industry, including expert speakers and thought leaders, to discuss emerging trends, challenges, and advancements in the sector. Looking further ahead, the partnership will continue with the organization of an International Poultry Seminar in 2026, bringing global poultry experts to Indonesia to share knowledge and best practices. The collaboration between the WPSA Indonesia and poultry Indonesia underscores their shared commitment to advancing both the national and global poultry sectors. The two organizations have agreed to continue working closely together, fostering synergy to drive the development of the poultry industry in Indonesia and beyond.
WPSA Indonesia Committee Holds Meeting to Discuss Work Programme for 2025-2029
On May 10, 2025, the WPSA Indonesia Committee for the 2025–2029 period held an online meeting to discuss and finalize the work programme for the upcoming years. The meeting, led by Dr. Maria Ulfah, President of the WPSA Indonesia, was attended by the Advisory Board, Supervisory Board, and Central and Regional Committees. During the meeting, the committee made several key decisions and set clear goals for the upcoming years. The primary focus was on designing programmes that effectively address the needs of the members of the WPSA Indonesia and support the continued growth of the poultry science community. In addition, the committee agreed on the need for structural changes within the organization, which will be reflected in amendments to the organization’s bylaws. Another important recommendation was the development of clear guidelines outlining the roles and responsibilities of each division, as well as a formal agreement on the allocation and usage of organizational funds. This strategic planning session marks an important step in ensuring that the WPSA in Indonesia remains responsive, efficient, and effective in meeting the needs of its members while contributing to the broader poultry industry.
WPSA Indonesia Member Speaks at the 3rd Arab Regional Poultry Congress
Dr. Ir. Irfan Djunaidi MSc., a member of the WPSA Indonesia and representing the East Java Regional Commission, was honoured to be one of the speakers at the 3rd Arab Regional Poultry Congress held at the Hawaii Paradise Resort Hotel in Hurghada, Egypt, from April 25–28, 2025. This prestigious international forum provided a platform for Dr. Irfan Djunaidi to share his expertise and contribute to the ongoing development of poultry science and technology in the Arab region and beyond. His participation underscores Indonesia’s growing influence and active role in advancing poultry research and innovation on a global scale. The event gathered industry experts and professionals from across the world, further solidifying the strong international presence of the WPSA Indonesia in the global poultry community. Dr. Irfan Djunaidi highlighted key advancements and challenges in the poultry industry, offering valuable insights into Indonesia’s contributions to sustainable practices and scientific progress in poultry farming. Vice Secretary General of The WPSA Indonesia Develop ‘LENTERA’, an IoT Innovation for Smart Poultry Farming
In a remarkable demonstration of technological advancements in the poultry sector, the Vice Secretary General of WPSA Indonesia, Danung Nur Adli, SPt., MSc., MPt., has spearheaded the development of an innovative IoT-based system known as LENTERA (Real-Time Technology Service for Poultry). This breakthrough tool is designed to provide real-time monitoring of broiler chicken production, aiming to increase farm efficiency, animal welfare, and market stability. Developed at Universitas Brawijaya’s Faculty of Animal Science, LENTERA reflects a strong commitment to integrating artificial intelligence and data systems into practical farming solutions. As part of his role within WPSA Indonesia, Danung continues to bridge science, technology, and industry through youth-led innovation and research-based action for sustainable poultry production. This innovation was intended by the Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Meutya Hafid, who inaugurated the AI Centre and Data Centre at Universitas Brawijaya (UB).
