1.WPSA Indonesia Successfully Holds a Poultry Seminar Focused on Sustainable and Adaptive Technologies

Jakarta, September 18, 2025 – The WPSA Indonesia successfully organized a poultry seminar focused on the latest strategies for sustainable environmental management and the application of adaptive technologies to increase poultry productivity in the modern era. The conference, held in collaboration with Trobos, was opened by Dr. Maria Ulfah, SPt., M.Agr.Sc., President of WPSA Indonesia, and was greeted by Dr. Harry Suhada, Director of Breeding and Livestock Production at the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia. The event also marked the launch of the official WPSA Indonesia website at https://wpsa.id/, which was opened by Dr. Cecep Hidayat, Secretary-General of the WPSA Indonesia.

In the first session, the participants were presented with talks by Atifa Asghar from Poulta, Inc. (USA), who discussed how artificial intelligence (AI) is paving the way for a smarter, more sustainable, and efficient poultry industry. Additionally, Dr. Jack Cheng from Strowin Group (China) explored sustainable bioprocessing and the integration of enzyme technology into environmental management systems for poultry farming. The second session featured key presentations such as “Sustainable Poultry Farming: Meaning, Purpose, and Benefits” by Slamet Widodo from PT Ciomas Adisatwa – JAPFA Group and “Real-Time Poultry Technology (LENTERA) for the Future of Poultry” by Danung Nur Adli from Brawijaya University.

The hybrid event (both offline and online) involved enthusiastic participation from attendees who actively engaged in every session. Bogor, September 16, 2025 – WPSA Indonesia officially signed a collaboration agreement with Poulta Inc., a renowned technology company from the United States. This partnership aims to strengthen international collaboration in the field of poultry science, with a primary focus on research, technological innovation, and the development of a sustainable poultry industry. Through this agreement, both parties are committed to supporting each other in bringing real contributions to the advancement of the poultry industry, both nationally and globally.

With this synergy, the WPSA in Indonesia hopes to leverage the latest technology and knowledge from Poulta, Inc., which has been successfully implemented in various countries. 3. WPSA Indonesia, BRIN, and Poulta Inc. Host Research discussion on IoT Technology for poultry farming

Bogor, September 16, 2025 – WPSA Indonesia, in collaboration with BRIN and Poulta Inc., organized a research discussion focused on the application of Internet of Things (IoT) technology in the poultry farming industry. Held at the Research Center for Animal Husbandry, BRIN in Bogor, the event was attended by key stakeholders from the poultry industry, including Dr. Santoso, Head of the Research Center for Animal Husbandry at BRIN, and his research team. The discussion aimed to explore how the IoT can be leveraged to enhance poultry farming practices and ensure the sustainability of the industry.

The session was filled with enthusiasm, as Poulta Inc., a leading company in IoT technology for livestock farming, showcased its latest innovations, which were already implemented in several developed countries. According to Poulta, IoT technology not only increases operational efficiency but also ensures the well-being of livestock through real-time barn condition monitoring, feed quality control, and automated health tracking for poultry.     Jakarta, 17-19 September 2025 – The WPSA Indonesia proudly opened its booth at ILDEX 2025, one of the largest international livestock and poultry exhibitions. This prestigious event, held annually, gathers industry leaders, experts, and innovators from around the world to showcase the latest technologies, products, and solutions in the livestock and poultry sectors. WPSA Indonesia’s participation in the expo highlights its commitment to advancing the poultry industry in Indonesia through research, collaboration, and innovation.

    Jambi, October 22, 2025 – In a significant step toward advancing research, education, and community service, Dr. Maria Ulfah, President of WPSA Indonesia, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Rector of Universitas Jambi (UNJA) and a partnership agreement with the Dean of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry at UNJA. The collaboration aims to create synergies between the WPSA in Indonesia and the UNJA in the development of innovative and sustainable practices within the fields of poultry science, animal husbandry, and livestock management.     8. WPSA Indonesia, HIMPARA, and IPB University Collaborate to Standardize Poultry Contest Judging in Indonesia

    Bogor, September 20, 2025 – As part of its ongoing efforts to improve the standards for ornamental poultry contests in Indonesia, WPSA Indonesia, in collaboration with the Himpunan Peternak Unggas Hias Nusantara (HIMPARA) and academics from the Faculty of Animal Science at IPB University, held a meeting on September 20, 2025, at the Pakansari Stadium in Cibinong, Indonesia. This meeting marks the initial step in refining the judgement criteria for Ayam Cemani and Ayam Kate, two of Indonesia’s most famous ornamental poultry breeds. The goal of the collaboration is to establish a more objective, measurable, and scientifically based evaluation system for these birds, ensuring consistency and fairness in future contests.

    During the meeting, Tarmudi, Chairperson of HIMPARA, stressed the need to review and update the existing standards for Ayam Cemani and Ayam Kate. He noted that the current judgement criteria vary significantly across different associations and regions, leading to inconsistencies in how bird quality and traits are assessed. “Some places prioritize feather color, others focus on body shape, and some emphasize posture and beauty,” Tarmudi explained. He emphasized the importance of involving researchers and experts to create a unified, scientifically grounded standard for poultry evaluation.

    Dr. Maria Ulfah, President of the WPSA Indonesia and a researcher in ornamental poultry at the Department of Animal Production and Technology, Faculty of Animal Science at IPB University, underscored the importance of standardization in making the judgement process more equitable and consistent. “Having standardized criteria is essential not only for the credibility of these contests but also for preserving and improving these unique poultry breeds,” said Dr. Ulfah. She added that a comprehensive, evidence-based approach would increase the prestige of ornamental poultry contests in Indonesia and contribute to the growth of the industry.     9. WPSA Indonesia Hosts Successful GROWER Webinar Episode #1 on Poultry Nutrition and AI Innovation

    10. Grand Show Ayam Hias 2025: A Successful Collaboration Celebrating Poultry Art and Culture

    Bogor, November 9, 2025 – The highly anticipated Grand Show: Eksplorasi Seni dalam Miniatur (Exploring Art in Miniature) – the Ayam Kate and Chabo Poultry Competition, was successfully held on November 9, 2025, in a remarkable collaboration between PAKBOS (Pecinta Ayam Kate Bogor dan Sekitar), WPSA Indonesia, and IPB University, alongside the Himpunan Peternak Ayam Hias Nusantara (HIMPARA). Host at Kopyor, Bogor, the event brought together poultry enthusiasts and hobbies from various regions, providing an enriching experience for all involved. From 08:00 AM to 02:00 PM, participants had the opportunity to engage in a blend of competition, education, and community building, making it a memorable occasion for the local poultry community.

    The event featured a range of engaging activities, including a Talk Show Edukasi Penentuan Standar Ayam Hias (Educational Talk Show on Poultry Standards), which provided valuable insights into the judgement criteria for ornamental poultry. This talk was particularly beneficial for both novice and seasoned poultry breeders looking to enhance their knowledge and skills. The main highlight of the event was the highly anticipated Ayam Kate and Chabo competitions, which were divided into several categories. The Ayam Kate competition featured categories such as Adult Male, Adult Female, Juvenile Male, Juvenile Female, Juvenile Chick, and Unique Category, whereas the Chabo competition included Adult Male and Female categories. The competition was judged by an experienced panel of experts — Bang Uze, Bang Candra, and Bang Deni — with the event hosted by the charismatic Bang Setiawan Miharja as the Master of Ceremony.
