1. WPSA Indonesia Partners with Research Center for Animal Husbandry – BRIN

Bogor-Indonesia, 22 July 2025 – The WPSA Indonesian Branch officially signed a Cooperation Agreement with the Research Center for Animal Husbandry of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) in Bogor, Indonesia. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in strengthening the synergy between professional organizations, research institutions, and other stakeholders to advance scientific development, foster technological innovation, and reinforce the research ecosystem within Indonesia’s poultry sector. This collaboration will take place from July 2025 to July 2028. The agreement covers a broad scope of initiatives, including research and development (R&D): joint efforts to address key challenges and opportunities in poultry production and sustainability. Scientific Publications and Data Exchange: Enhancing global visibility and access to knowledge generated through collaborative studies. Capacity Building: Organizing training programs, seminars, and workshops to empower human resources in the poultry industry. Guided by the spirit of education, organization, and research, the WPSA in Indonesia firmly believes that this partnership will generate tangible impacts for the poultry industry. It also represents a concrete step toward more self-reliant and globally competitive poultry production in Indonesia.

2. WPSA Indonesia Participates in the 2025 Poultry, Egg, and Milk Festival

Jakarta-Indonesia. The WPSA Indonesia Branch proudly joined and supported the 2025 Festival Ayam, Telur, dan Susu (FATS) held at the Green Field of Al-Azhar University Indonesia, South Jakarta. FATS took place on July 19–20, 2025. The festival served as a tangible collaboration between government institutions, academia, livestock industry players, and the wider community. Its aim was to raise public awareness about the importance of consuming high-quality animal protein as a foundation for children’s nutrition and national development. With the theme “Chicken, Eggs & Milk to Improve Nutrition and the Achievements of the Nation’s Children” and the subtheme “Supporting the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG)”, FATS 2025 was not only an educational platform on nutrition but also a strategic forum to strengthen synergy among stakeholders in the poultry and livestock sectors.

A wide range of engaging activities enriched the event, including seminars; talk shows; nutrition campaigns promoting poultry, egg, and milk consumption; the distribution of animal protein packages; bazaars; and community entertainment. On this occasion, the WPSA Indonesia reaffirmed its strong commitment to supporting national policies on food security, nutritional improvement, and the development of a healthy and competitive generation for Indonesia’s future. Together, these findings encouraged us to champion the movement for nutritious meals and continue to promote animal protein intake for Indonesia’s golden generation.

3. The WPSA Indonesia Establishes a Strategic Partnership with the Agrinews Communication Group

Bogor-Indonesia, 6 August 2025 – A significant milestone in Indonesia’s poultry sector was marked today with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the World’s Poultry Science Association Indonesian Branch (WPSA Indonesia) and the Agrinews Communication Group. The event, held in Bogor, Indonesia, signals the beginning of a promising collaboration aimed at advancing Indonesia’s poultry sector at both the industry and community levels. The MoU was signed by Arief Fachrudin, the Asia Coordinator of the Agrinews Communication Group, and Dr. Maria Ulfah, SPt., MSc. Agr., President of the WPSA, Indonesia. This collaboration will last for 5 years, from August 6, 2025, to August 6, 2030. The agreement seeks to strengthen synergy in media outreach, the promotion of poultry science, and the organization of scientific events. This collaboration is expected to accelerate scientific progress and enhance human resource capacity within the poultry industry in Indonesia and beyond.

Enhancing Media Quality and Poultry Science Dissemination

In his statement, Arief Fachrudin emphasized, “This cooperation is not only a vital step in advancing Indonesia’s poultry sector but also an effort to bring science closer to the wider community. We hope this partnership will provide great benefits for both the development of the poultry industry and society at large.”

The collaboration focuses on two main objectives: improving media and communication quality. Both parties work together to enhance news coverage and publish popular scientific articles accessible to the general public. Through Agrinews’ media platforms, research and innovations in poultry science will reach broader audiences—both nationally and globally. This includes opportunities for WPSA Indonesia members to publish innovative work and popular scientific articles under the Agrinews Communication Group network. Organizing seminars and training programs. Beyond media, the partnership also involves hosting seminars and training sessions—both internal and public—designed to enrich knowledge and skills among WPSA Indonesia members as well as the wider poultry community. These activities aim to introduce the latest science and innovations while also highlighting the expertise of WPSA Indonesia members at the national and international levels.

A Platform to Promote WPSA Indonesia Members

Dr. Maria Ulfah added, “This collaboration will further strengthen the WPSA Indonesia’s role as a scientific platform that not only promotes research and innovations in poultry science but also contributes to the development of human resources in the industry. We believe this synergy will have a significant effect on the advancement of Indonesia’s poultry sector, while also introducing the extraordinary potential of our members to the global stage.”

Long-term Collaboration

The MoU is valid for five years and will be followed by more detailed cooperation agreements. Both parties agreed to organize impactful activities for Indonesia’s poultry sector while contributing to sustainable poultry development worldwide. The MoU signing ceremony was also witnessed by Drh. Chutaemil Marom, Vice President of the WPSA Indonesia for Cooperation and Development, and Dr. Cecep Hidayat, Secretary General of the WPSA Indonesia, both expressed their full support for this strategic initiative.

Looking Toward a Stronger Poultry Future

Through this collaboration, the WPSA Indonesia and Agrinews Communication Group aimed to strengthen synergy in advancing the poultry sector. With this joint commitment, poultry science and innovation are expected to continue to grow, resulting in greater contributions to sustainable development of the poultry industry in Indonesia’s and globally.

 4. WPSA Indonesia Members Named among the Top 22 Scientists of Universitas Brawijaya

    Malang-Indonesia, 12 August 2025 – MIPI–WPSA Indonesia proudly congratulates Prof. Dr. Ir. Osfar as Sjofjan, M.Sc., IPU., ASEAN Eng. and Danung Nur Adli, S.Pt., M.Sc., M.Pt., both from the WPSA Indonesia East Java Chapter, for their outstanding achievements in being recognized as part of the Top 22 Scientists of Universitas Brawijaya 2025.

    This prestigious recognition highlights their dedication and remarkable contributions to science, research, and the advancement of animal husbandry. Their accomplishments inspire the younger generation to continue innovating and contributing to the progress of livestock science and technology in Indonesia.

    5. WPSA Indonesia Hosts a National Poultry Seminar at ILDEX 2025

    Jakarta-Indonesia, 18 September 2025 – In collaboration with TROBOS Livestock Magazine, the Indonesian Branch of the World’s Poultry Science Association (WPSA Indonesia) organized the National Poultry Seminar as part of Indonesia’s annual livestock exhibition, ILDEX 2025.

    6. WPSA Indonesia Celebrates Its 33rd Anniversary

    Bogor-Indonesia, 2 September 2025 – The Indonesian Branch of the World’s Poultry Science Association (WPSA Indonesia) celebrated its 33rd anniversary, marking the organization’s founding on 2 September 1992. To commemorate this special milestone, the WPSA Indonesia launched a 33rd Anniversary Book, which documents the history and journey of the WPSA Indonesia. The book also features congratulatory messages from the WPSA President and branch chairpersons from around the world, including Australia, Austria, France, Turkey, Japan, Germany, Korea, India, South Africa, and Thailand. As part of the celebration, the WPSA Indonesia also organized an international webinar on AI applications in poultry farming in collaboration with Poulta Inc., a U.S.-based company specializing in artificial intelligence technology for poultry production. The series of events for the 33rd anniversary celebration of WPSA Indonesia will take place from September 2 to September 30, 2025.     7. WPSA Indonesia Received Branch Development Grants to Launch Official Websites

    Bogor-Indonesia, 2 September 2025 – In July 2025, WPSA Indonesia submitted a branch development proposal to WPSA for the creation of an official website, and it was approved by August 2025. The grant has been utilized to establish the official website of the WPSA Indonesia www.wpsa.id, serving as a global platform to disseminate knowledge, technology, and news generated by the WPSA Indonesia. WPSA Indonesia extends its sincere gratitude to WPSA for this grant, which has made this important initiative possible. This website marks a new step forward in strengthening communication, outreach, and the global visibility of the activities of the WPSA in Indonesia.
