  13 April 2022 - 14 April 2022

East Midlands Conference Centre (EMCC), Nottingham, United Kingdom

Join us at the East Midlands Conference Centre (EMCC), Nottingham on Wednesday 13th and Thursday 14th April when we will join the British Society for Animal Science to discuss the role of animals in human and planetary health.

This year, we will be trialling a hybrid format where delegates may choose to attend the conference virtually or in person. We are very interested to receive feedback from members on this trial as we will have decide whether it is a good approach for future years and worth the additional cost.

In person (@EMCC) attendees will be able to get up close to the action, while also being able to seamlessly participate and network with virtual delegates and speakers from across the globe. Virtual attendees will be able to show their active participation at the conference, by liking and commenting on the content, and (we hope) engaging in live Q and A’s.

Our venue for 2022 will be our postponed 2019 venue of the De Vere East Midlands conference centre. Here, modern combines with stunning natural surroundings.

Set in 330 acres of the University of Nottingham’s beautiful landscaped parkland, De Vere East Midlands Conference Centre [https://www.devere.co.uk/east-midlands-conference-centre/ ] and Orchard Hotel [https://www.devere.co.uk/orchard/] prove you can mix business with pleasure.

With its secluded location and award-winning credentials, the WPSA-UK 2022 conference venue offers the ideal retreat from the distractions of the outside world with free parking on site.

In addition to submitted talks and posters, we will have two invited speaker sessions: one focussing on the impacts of our regional return to inclusion of processed animal protein in animal feed, and the other on approaches to assessment and enhancement of welfare.

On the evening of 13th April, we will be delighted to host the Gordon Memorial Lecture and Reception on behalf of the Gordon Memorial Trust. Christine Nichol, Professor of Animal Welfare at the Royal Veterinary College, will give her lecture entitled ‘Whither hen welfare?’

Abstract submission is now open. You’ll find out how to submit an abstract by visiting the following web page: https://wpsa-uk.com/2021/11/wpsa-uk-2022-request-for-abstracts/
